Nevis Culturama blends homecoming vibes folk traditions and fete nights on a calm beautiful little island.
What to Expect
Culturama is Nevis keeping its own culture rather than importing anyone else's — a summer festival built on folklore, string band, masquerade and food as much as on the road. Culturama Day is a public holiday, falling on the Tuesday after the first Monday in August, and the island is small enough that you will see the same faces all week. That is precisely the appeal.

Getting Around
Nevis doesn't currently have app-based ride-hailing. Local registered taxis are the best option — agree on a price before you get in. Your hotel or guesthouse can usually recommend trusted drivers.

Getting Around
Minibuses and taxis both work well on an island this size, and the buses are colourful, cheap and easy to flag down.
Driving is on the left and the same St Kitts and Nevis temporary permit applies.
One main road rings the island, so getting lost is close to impossible.
Taxis are unmetered with set government rates between points.
The Charlestown–Basseterre ferry is the link to St Kitts, about 45 minutes, several sailings daily.

When to Book
Culturama 2027 runs from late July into the first week of August, with Culturama Day on Tuesday 3 August. Fly into St Kitts (SKB) — British Airways serves it seasonally — then take the ferry to Charlestown, which runs frequently and takes about 45 minutes. Alternatively connect through Antigua to Vance W. Amory (NEV). Nevis has very limited accommodation and Culturama is when the diaspora comes home, so rooms are the binding constraint: book by March. Troupe registration opens around May, and costumes are among the cheapest in the region.
